Tradify review (UK, 2026)

Quick answer

Tradify is a job management app for UK trades that costs £34, £37 or £44 per user per month, with a 14-day free trial and no contract. It is our best overall pick for teams of 1 to 10 people, thanks to UK gas and electrical certificates from the Pro plan and Xero, Sage and QuickBooks on every plan.

Tradify is the job management app we recommend first to most UK trade businesses with 1 to 10 people. We compared its UK pricing, features and user reviews on 12 October 2026, and this review explains who should buy it, who should not, and what it will really cost you.

Is Tradify any good? Our verdict in brief

Yes. Tradify is our best overall pick for small UK trade teams. It does the everyday jobs well (quotes, scheduling, job sheets, invoices), it has proper UK gas and electrical certificates from the Pro plan, and it connects to Xero, Sage and QuickBooks on every plan. It also has a London office and the highest Trustpilot score of the six core job management apps we compared: 4.8 from 610 reviews (checked 12 Oct 2026).

The catch is the pricing model. You pay for every person who logs in, so a team of 15 costs a lot more than a team of 3. Stock control is basic, and the newer AI tools sit on the top plan only.

Our verdict

Buy Tradify if you are an electrician, plumber, gas engineer, heating engineer or property maintenance firm with 1 to 10 people and you want one simple app that handles certificates and talks to your accounts software. Skip it if you have lots of staff doing small, quick jobs (ServiceM8's job-based pricing will be cheaper), you need full stock control, or you want Making Tax Digital built into the job app itself (look at Powered Now).

What does Tradify do well?

It covers UK certificates without a second app

This is the big one for UK trades. Many job management apps were built for Australia, New Zealand or North America and treat certificates as an afterthought. Tradify's UK site names electrical safety certificates, including EICRs (Electrical Installation Condition Reports, the five-yearly check landlords must get), and oil and gas safety certificates. Its gas certificate page lists the landlord and homeowner gas safety record, service and maintenance records, install, commission and decommission forms, warning notices, breakdown reports, catering, central heating commissioning, unvented hot water, test and purge, boiler records, and oil forms CD/10, CD/11, CD/12, CD/14 and TI/133D.

That means a gas engineer or electrician can quote, book, do the work, fill in the certificate and invoice from the same job. No copying names and addresses between apps.

Every plan works with Xero, Sage and QuickBooks

Some rivals lock accounting links behind a higher tier or skip Sage altogether. Tradify includes Xero, Sage and QuickBooks Online on all three plans. For a UK business that already pays a bookkeeper to use Sage, that matters.

Pricing is simple to understand

Three plans, one price per person, no contract. You can work out your bill on the back of a van receipt: people times plan price. Our Tradify pricing breakdown does the sums for different team sizes.

It has a real UK presence

Tradify lists a London office at 8 Devonshire Square and two UK phone numbers, and offers free one-to-one training. That is a clear advantage over US-first tools such as Jobber, where we found no UK office or UK phone number.

Users rate it highly

Tradify scores 4.8 on Trustpilot from 610 reviews and 4.8 on the GB App Store from about 2,700 ratings (both checked 12 Oct 2026). Those are big samples with high scores, which is a good sign the app works day to day.

Where does Tradify fall short?

Per-user pricing gets expensive as you grow

At £37 per user on Pro, a 3-person team pays £111 a month, but a 12-person team pays £444 a month. ServiceM8 charges by the number of jobs instead, with unlimited users on paid plans, so a large team doing a modest number of jobs can pay far less there. We compare the two head to head in Tradify vs ServiceM8.

Certificates are not on the cheapest plan

Lite (£34) does not include compliance certificates. If you are a gas engineer or electrician, treat Pro (£37) as your real starting price.

Stock control is basic

Tradify's pricing page does not list inventory or stock control. You get kit bundles (groups of parts you add to a quote in one go) and price-list imports from suppliers. Purchase orders are on Plus only. If you run a busy van stock or a stores room, that may not be enough.

AI features are on Plus only

SmartRead (which reads supplier bills for you) and SmartWrite (which helps write job descriptions) are only on the £44 Plus plan.

No Making Tax Digital mention

We found no mention of Making Tax Digital (HMRC's rules for keeping digital records and filing online) on Tradify's pages. In practice you handle MTD through Xero, Sage or QuickBooks, which Tradify syncs to. If you want MTD filing inside the job app itself, Powered Now is the stronger choice.

No customer portal mentioned

Customers can accept quotes online from the Pro plan, but we did not see a full customer portal (a login area where clients see all their jobs and invoices) on Tradify's pages.

VAT treatment is not stated on the pricing page. Billing is month to month with no contract. Tradify's UK page showed no annual discount when we checked, although an older help article (last updated July 2022) says annual options exist without giving figures.

Extra costs to know: text-message quotes and invoices cost £0.10 per message, text reminders (Pro and above) also cost £0.10 per message, and the optional Instant Website add-on is £10 a month. Tradify's listing on the Xero App Store showed a code, XEROT26, for 50% off for 4 months when we checked.

Watch out for old prices. Capterra UK still showed an older Pro price of "£28 per user, 4+ users" on 12 Oct 2026, which does not match Tradify's own page. Use Tradify's page, or our full Tradify pricing guide with worked team-size examples.

Quick examples on Pro: a sole trader pays £37 a month (£444 a year). A 3-person team pays £111 a month (£1,332 a year). An 8-person team pays £296 a month (£3,552 a year). Add VAT if it applies to your account.

Is Tradify worth the money compared with ServiceM8?

It depends on two numbers: how many people need a login, and how many jobs you do each month. Here is a worked example for an 8-person electrical firm.

Monthly cost for an 8-person team. Prices checked 12 Oct 2026
ScenarioTradify ProServiceM8
8 people, about 120 jobs a month8 x £37 = £296Growing plan (150 jobs) = £59
8 people, about 400 jobs a month8 x £37 = £296Premium plan (500 jobs) = £119
8 people, 1,500 or more jobs a month8 x £37 = £296Premium Plus = £269, plus 15p per extra job

On raw price, ServiceM8 wins for this team. So why do we still rank Tradify first for small teams? Because Tradify's Pro plan includes named UK gas and electrical certificates and a Sage link, and ServiceM8 offers neither (its certificates are generic PDF forms). If your engineers issue EICRs or gas safety records every week, paying for a separate certificate app on top of ServiceM8 can wipe out the saving. If you never issue certificates, ServiceM8 is usually the better value.

Tradify features in detail

Quoting and invoicing

All plans let you build quotes and invoices with your branding and take online and card payments. From Pro, customers can accept quotes online, you can send progress invoices (staged bills on longer jobs) and the app chases late payers with automatic reminders. Plus adds bulk invoicing, handy if you bill lots of maintenance visits at month end.

Scheduling and job management

Every plan includes a schedule with Google Calendar sync. Pro adds subcontractor scheduling, so you can book and track the subbies you bring in. Tradify's UK site says you can see staff locations in real time on a map. Recurring jobs (for example yearly boiler services) start on Pro, and automatic service reminders to customers are on Plus.

UK certificates and forms

From Pro you get compliance certificates and custom-branded forms. The certificate list on Tradify's gas page is broad, covering domestic and catering gas records, warning notices, commissioning and oil forms. Electricians get EICRs and other electrical safety certificates. Plus adds job service reports. If certificates are your main need, compare this against our Tradify vs Powered Now comparison, because Powered Now advertises nearly 100 trade forms.

Timesheets

Timesheets are included from Pro. Staff clock time against jobs, which helps you check whether a job made money and makes payroll less of a guess.

Xero, Sage and QuickBooks sync

All plans connect to Xero, Sage and QuickBooks Online, so invoices and payments flow into your accounts without retyping. Tradify is rated 4.6 from 187 reviews on the UK Xero App Store (checked 12 Oct 2026). We found no mention of FreeAgent.

AI features on Plus

SmartRead captures supplier bills using AI, so you do not have to type them in. SmartWrite helps you write job and quote descriptions. Both are Plus-only, which puts the AI tools at £44 per user.

Mobile apps

Tradify has apps for iPhone, iPad and Android, plus the web version for the office. Engineers can see their jobs, add photos and notes, complete forms and certificates and raise invoices on site.

Setup, training and support

There is no setup fee. Tradify offers free one-to-one training and phone support, and lists two UK phone numbers. It does not publish UK support hours, so ask during your trial if out-of-hours help matters to you. Moving over from spreadsheets or another app is helped by price-list imports, so you can load your supplier's parts list rather than typing every item.

What do users say about Tradify?

These are third-party ratings, not our score. We do not give our own star rating.

Tradify third-party ratings, checked 12 Oct 2026
PlatformScoreNumber of reviews
Trustpilot4.8 out of 5610
Capterra UK4.7 out of 5152
App Store (GB)4.8 out of 5About 2,700 ratings
Google Play (GB)4.9 out of 5About 3,110 ratings (100,000+ downloads)
Xero App Store (UK)4.6 out of 5187
G24.2 out of 53 (too few to read much into)

The pattern is clear: where there are hundreds or thousands of reviews (Trustpilot, the app stores), Tradify scores between 4.7 and 4.9. The low G2 score comes from only 3 reviews, so we give it little weight.

Who is Tradify best for?

Our recommendation by team size
Team sizeIs Tradify a good fit?Why
Sole traderGood fit£37 a month on Pro gets you certificates and accounting sync. If you do under 30 jobs a month and do not need certificates, ServiceM8's free plan costs nothing.
2 to 5 peopleStrong fit£74 to £185 a month on Pro. This is where Tradify's ease of use and certificates shine.
6 to 10 peopleGood fit, check the maths£222 to £370 a month on Pro. Compare with ServiceM8 if your jobs are small and many staff only need occasional access.
11 people or moreShortlist, not automaticCosts climb with each user. Heating firms should also look at Commusoft, and maintenance contractors at Joblogic.

By trade: Tradify fits electricians, plumbers, gas and heating engineers, HVAC and refrigeration engineers, and property maintenance firms best, because those trades need certificates. Builders and plumbers who buy lots of materials should compare it with Fergus, which tracks materials costs against each job. Cleaners, gardeners and landscapers do not need certificates and may get more from Jobber's client hub and booking tools.

Frequently asked questions

Is Tradify worth it for a UK tradesperson?

For most sole traders and teams of up to about 10 people, yes. Pro at £37 per user per month gives you quotes, invoices, scheduling, timesheets and UK gas and electrical certificates in one app, with Xero, Sage or QuickBooks sync. It is less good value for big teams, because every extra person adds another monthly fee.

How much is Tradify per month in the UK?

Tradify's UK pricing page lists Lite at £34, Pro at £37 and Plus at £44 per user per month, plus a Custom plan priced on request. We checked the page on 12 October 2026. It does not say whether VAT is included, so confirm that at checkout.

Is Tradify a monthly subscription?

Yes. Tradify's pricing page says billing is month to month with no contract, so you can cancel when you like. An older Tradify help article mentions annual pricing options, but no annual prices were shown on the UK pricing page when we checked on 12 October 2026.

Is Tradify an app?

Yes. Tradify runs in a web browser on a desktop or laptop and has apps for iPhone, iPad and Android. Office staff usually work on a computer while engineers use the phone app on site to see jobs, take photos, fill in forms and send invoices.

Does Tradify do gas safety certificates and EICRs?

Yes, from the Pro plan up. Tradify's UK site names electrical safety certificates including EICRs, and gas and oil safety certificates including landlord gas safety records, service records, warning notices and commissioning forms. The Lite plan does not include compliance certificates.

Where is Tradify based?

Tradify was founded in 2013 and Capterra UK lists its headquarters as Auckland, New Zealand. It has a UK office at 8 Devonshire Square, London, and offers free one-to-one training and phone support on two UK phone numbers.

What is the best alternative to Tradify?

ServiceM8 is the best alternative for bigger teams on a budget, because it charges by jobs rather than by user and has a free plan. Powered Now is the best alternative if you want certificates plus Making Tax Digital in one app. Fergus suits plumbers and builders who want job costing and purchase orders.
