Fergus review (UK, 2026)
Quick answer
Fergus is a job management app for UK trades with list prices of £39 a month (Essentials) and £45 a month (Pro), currently shown at 90% off until December. It is our top pick for job costing and purchase orders, so it suits plumbers and builders, but its Trustpilot sample is small.

Fergus is a job management app built around one question every plumber and builder asks: did that job actually make money? We compared its UK pricing, features and user reviews on 12 October 2026. Here is who it suits, who should look elsewhere, and what to watch in its current 90% off offer.
Is Fergus any good? Our verdict in brief
Fergus is our pick for job costing and purchase orders. It tracks materials against every job, brings in supplier invoices automatically on Pro, and adds purchase orders on the £45 Pro plan. It also has a real UK base, with an office in Manchester.
Two things hold it back. Its Trustpilot score is 3.8 from just 14 reviews (checked 12 Oct 2026), which is too small a sample to trust either way. And its headline offer, "90% off til December", comes with no published terms, so you cannot tell what you will pay once it ends.
Our verdict
Buy Fergus if you are a plumbing, heating, building or electrical firm of roughly 2 to 20 people who buys lots of materials and wants to see the profit on every job. Skip it if you are a sole trader doing quick service calls with few parts (Tradify or ServiceM8 will be simpler), you need Sage, or you want Making Tax Digital inside the job app (look at Powered Now).

What does Fergus do well?
Job costing that follows the materials
Fergus tracks materials against each job and gives every job its own job card, so labour, parts and invoices all sit in one place. When the job is done, you can see what you spent against what you billed. For trades where materials are a big part of the bill (bathroom fitting, boiler swaps, extensions, rewires), that is the difference between guessing and knowing.
Supplier invoices with less retyping
Pro includes "automatic supplier integrations", and Fergus says its AI can read supplier invoices from your email. That should cut retyping in the office. Fergus's pages do not spell out how invoices are matched to jobs, so test it with your own merchants during the trial.
Purchase orders on the mid plan
Purchase orders (a written order to a supplier, tied to a job) are on Pro at £45. On Tradify they are on the top Plus plan only. If you order materials job by job, that matters.
A real UK base
Fergus lists a Manchester office and a UK freephone number. Most UK customers, it says, run crews of 1 to 20 people.
Strong payment options
Fergus Pay offers tap to pay on iPhone or Android, card, Apple Pay, online payment, direct debit and Clearpay (buy now, pay later). Clearpay can help customers commit to bigger jobs.
Certificates are included
Fergus says EICRs and Gas Safety Certificates are stored with the job and that "certificates are free". So you are not paying extra per certificate.
Where does Fergus fall short?
The 90% off offer has no published terms
"Limited Offer: Get 90% off til December" is a strong headline, but the pricing page does not say which December, whether it applies to every user, or what happens afterwards. Plan your budget on the full list prices (£39 and £45 a month) and treat any discount as a bonus.
It is unclear whether prices are per user
The base prices say "from £39" and "from £45". Add-ons are clearly per user (timesheet users from £12 a month, contractor users £2 per user per day), but the page does not say how many full users the base price covers. Ask Fergus for a written quote for your team size.
A small Trustpilot sample
Fergus has 3.8 from 14 reviews on Trustpilot (checked 12 Oct 2026). Its Capterra UK score is better at 4.6 from 155 reviews, and the Fergus Go app scores 4.7 from 133 ratings on the GB App Store. But compared with Tradify's 4.8 from 610 Trustpilot reviews, there is far less public feedback to go on.
Essentials is light on support and forms
Essentials has email and chat support only. Phone support, forms, checklists, purchase orders and supplier integrations all need Pro. For most firms, £45 is the real starting price.
No Sage and no Making Tax Digital
We found no Sage, FreeAgent or Making Tax Digital features. MTD would be handled in Xero or QuickBooks.
No customer portal mentioned
We did not see a customer portal on Fergus's pages. If you want customers to log in, book and pay in one place, Jobber or Powered Now Premium are better fits.
How much does Fergus cost per month?
| Plan | List price | Offer price shown | Who it is for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Essentials | From £39 a month | £3.90 a month | Small firms that need quotes, job cards, timesheets and invoicing |
| Pro (most popular) | From £45 a month | £4.50 a month | Firms that buy materials and want purchase orders, forms and phone support |
| Enterprise | "Let's talk" | n/a | 10 or more staff |
VAT treatment is not stated on the pricing page, and whether the base price is per user is not stated either. Billing is monthly with no lock-in contract, and we found no annual discount.
| Item | Cost |
|---|---|
| Timesheet users | From £12 a month each (£1.20 during the offer) |
| Contractor users | £2 per user per day |
| Text messages | £8 per 100 |
| Card payments (Fergus Pay) | 1.6% + £0.20 per transaction |
| Certificates | Free |
| Setup | None, with a free one-hour onboarding session |
Worked example: a plumbing firm on Pro at the £45 list price, sending 200 text reminders a month (£16) and taking £10,000 a month in card payments (£160 plus 20p per transaction), would pay about £61 a month in subscription and texts before card fees. If each of three apprentices needs a timesheet login, add £36. Ask Fergus to confirm how many full users the £45 covers. For a side-by-side with Tradify's per-user prices, see our Tradify vs Fergus comparison.
Is Fergus worth the money?
Because Fergus does not say whether its base price is per user, a fair like-for-like comparison is hard. Here is how the published prices line up for the features a materials-heavy firm needs most: purchase orders.
| Software | Plan with purchase orders | Published price |
|---|---|---|
| Fergus | Pro | From £45 a month (per-user basis not stated) |
| Tradify | Plus | £44 per user per month |
| Powered Now | Business (all plans) | £28 a month for 1 user, ex VAT |
If Fergus's £45 covers more than one full user, it is strong value for a small team that buys lots of materials. If it is per user, it lands close to Tradify Plus, and the choice comes down to which app's job costing and supplier links fit your merchants better. Either way, the free one-hour onboarding session is a good chance to ask Fergus for a written quote for your exact team.
Fergus features in detail
Job cards
Both plans include quoting, price books (your saved list of parts and labour rates), job cards, a calendar, GPS tracking, materials, recurring jobs and the mobile app. The job card is the heart of Fergus: every note, photo, part, timesheet and invoice for a job lives on it.
Supplier invoices
Pro's automatic supplier integrations bring merchant invoices into Fergus, and Fergus AI can read supplier invoices from email. How invoices are matched to jobs is not described on the pages we checked.
Purchase orders (Pro)
Raise a purchase order for your supplier and track the materials cost against the job (Fergus's own description). Pro also adds job phases (for staged work like first and second fix), tasks, tiered pricing, hazards and SWMS (safe work method statements, a written plan for doing risky work safely) and full reporting.
Timesheets
Timesheets are on both plans. Staff who only need to log time can be added as timesheet users from £12 a month each.
Fergus Pay
Tap to pay on iPhone or Android, card, Apple Pay, online payment, direct debit and Clearpay, at 1.6% + £0.20 per card transaction.
Certificates stored with the job
EICRs and Gas Safety Certificates are stored with the job, and certificates are free. We could not see a full list of certificate templates, so electricians and gas engineers should check their exact forms during the trial.
AI tools
Fergus lists "Fergus AI", a desktop "Fergus Assistant" and "Fergus Go Assistant", which lets engineers use voice or text on site. Plan availability for each AI tool was not stated on the pages we checked.
What do users say about Fergus?
These are third-party ratings, not our score. We do not give our own star rating.
| Platform | Score | Number of reviews |
|---|---|---|
| Capterra UK | 4.6 out of 5 | 155 |
| Trustpilot | 3.8 out of 5 | 14 (a small sample) |
| App Store (GB), Fergus Go | 4.7 out of 5 | 133 ratings |
| Google Play | Not confirmed | n/a |
| G2 | 4.8 out of 5 | 5 (a very small sample) |
Where Fergus has a decent number of reviews (Capterra UK and the App Store), it scores 4.6 to 4.7. The Trustpilot and G2 figures rest on too few reviews to draw firm conclusions.

Who is Fergus best for?
| Business | Fit | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Plumbing and heating firms, 2 to 20 people | Strong | Materials-heavy jobs, purchase orders and gas certificates. See our plumbing software guide |
| Small builders and renovators | Strong | Job phases, purchase orders and supplier invoices. See our builders software guide |
| Electrical contractors | Good | EICRs stored with the job, plus job costing on rewires |
| Sole traders doing quick call-outs | Fair | Simpler, cheaper options exist |
| 10 or more staff | Good | Ask about Enterprise and compare with Commusoft |
By trade: Fergus names electricians, plumbers, builders, HVAC engineers, roofers, gas fitters, drainage, fire protection, security, maintenance and cleaning firms among its users. In our view it earns its place where materials make up a big share of each invoice and the office spends time chasing merchant bills. Cleaning and gardening firms, where materials are small, will get less from its job costing strengths.
What are the best alternatives to Fergus?
| Software | UK entry price | Pick it instead of Fergus if... |
|---|---|---|
| Tradify | £34 per user per month | You want a clear per-user price, a big review base and Sage on every plan |
| ServiceM8 | Free (30 jobs), then £25 to £269 a month | You have lots of staff and want unlimited users |
| Powered Now | £28 a month for 1 user ex VAT (£32 per user on Professional) | You want nearly 100 trade forms and Making Tax Digital built in |
| Commusoft | Quote only (about £59 per user per Capterra UK) | You run a heating and plumbing firm with 6 or more staff |
Our pick for most small UK trade teams is still Tradify, which has purchase orders on its Plus plan and certificates from Pro. Read our Tradify vs Fergus head-to-head to decide between them.

Frequently asked questions
How much does Fergus cost in the UK?
Fergus's UK pricing page lists Essentials from £39 a month and Pro from £45 a month, with an Enterprise plan for 10 or more staff priced on request. Is Fergus worth it?
Yes, if you buy a lot of materials. Fergus is built around job costing: it shows what each job cost against what was charged, offers purchase orders on Pro and tracks materials against each job. If you mainly do quick service calls with few parts, Tradify or ServiceM8 may be simpler.

Does Fergus do EICRs and gas safety certificates?
