EasyCert is electrical certificate software you buy once rather than rent every month. We compared its published prices, certificate list and user ratings on 12 October 2026 against subscription apps such as Tradecert and iCertifi.

Who should buy EasyCert, and who should not?

Our verdict

Buy EasyCert if you are an electrician who writes up certificates on a Windows PC in the evening, wants fire alarm and emergency lighting forms too, and would rather pay once than every month. Skip it if you want to finish and send everything from your phone on site. The EasyCert Mobile app scores 2.5 on the App Store and 3.2 on Google Play, while Tradecert scores 4.9 on both the App Store and Trustpilot.

What does EasyCert do well?

You pay once

Most certificate apps now charge monthly or yearly. EasyCert Pro is £174.95 and EasyCert Mobile is £224.95. If you keep using it for years, the cost per month falls well below any subscription we compared.

A wide certificate range

Beyond the standard BS 7671 forms, EasyCert includes fire detection and alarm certificates (BS 5839), emergency lighting certificates (BS 5266) and Solar PV certificates. That suits electricians who also do commercial fire and lighting work.

Up to date with Amendment 4

Tysoft's page says all its electrical software has been updated to BS 7671:2018 Amendment 4 2026. Our guide to BS 7671 Amendment 4 explains what changed on the forms.

Your logo, plain paper

Certificates print onto plain paper, and you can add any registered body's logo (NICEIC, NAPIT or Elecsa). A 2019 Professional Electrician product test also noted colour, header and footer options, electronic signatures and support for several named test engineers. It called EasyCert "A simple but excellent solution to a task that can be a real headache for electricians".

Backup and sharing

EasyCert lists "Online Web Backup" and sharing certificates through a cloud system. The mobile app uploads results over your phone's data connection for download into the desktop program.

Where does EasyCert fall short?

  • Weak mobile ratings. EasyCert Mobile scores 2.5 from 57 ratings on the App Store and 3.2 from 135 reviews on Google Play (checked 12 Oct 2026).
  • Desktop first. The mobile app records results on site and sends them to the desktop software. If you have no PC, this is the wrong tool.
  • Hidden renewal price. The Customer Care Package renewal, which is how you get updates and support, has no published price.
  • One device per licence. Pro covers one PC and Mobile covers one PC plus one mobile. Extra licences cost extra, price not shown.
  • Few independent reviews. Capterra UK has no user reviews, and the main hands-on review we found dates from 2019.
  • No job management. No quotes, invoices or scheduling.

EasyCert features in detail

One-off licence

You own the version you buy. The Customer Care Package (renewable for 12 months at a time) covers updates and support, so budget for it when regulations change.

Certificates

Domestic Electrical Installation Certificate, Domestic EICR, Minor Works Certificate, Electrical Installation Certificate and Electrical Installation Condition Report under BS 7671, plus fire alarm, emergency lighting and Solar PV forms. For help with codes on condition reports, see our EICR guide.

Windows desktop

The 2019 Professional Electrician test ran EasyCert on Windows. Tysoft's page does not name the operating system, so Mac users should ask first.

The app store scores are for the mobile companion app only, not the desktop program, which has no app store listing. The Google Play app was updated on 6 August 2026, so it is still maintained.

Pros

  • One-off price, no monthly fee
  • Updated to BS 7671 Amendment 4
  • Fire alarm, emergency lighting and Solar PV included
  • Any registered body's logo can be printed
  • UK company (Newcastle upon Tyne)

Cons

  • Low mobile app ratings (2.5 and 3.2)
  • Desktop program needed
  • Renewal and extra licence prices not published
  • No free trial stated
  • No quotes, invoices or job management

Who is EasyCert best for?

  • Sole trader electricians with a PC: the best fit. Lowest long-run cost.
  • Electricians doing fire and emergency lighting: a good fit, as those forms are included.
  • Phone-only electricians: look at Tradecert or iCertifi instead.
  • Electricians on a landlord round: if you do a lot of rental EICRs, you will fill in the same condition report many times a month. A PC with a proper keyboard is quicker for long schedules of test results, which plays to EasyCert's strength. If you would rather finish each report before you leave the property, a phone-first app is the better choice.
  • Teams of 3 or more: every extra PC or phone needs another licence at an unpublished price, so get a quote and compare it with a job app that includes certificates, such as Tradify Pro at £37 per user per month.

Frequently asked questions

How much does EasyCert cost?

Tysoft's purchase page lists EasyCert Pro at £174.95 for one PC and EasyCert Mobile at £224.95, which adds a mobile app for one iPhone, iPad or Android device. These are one-off prices, checked 12 October 2026. A 12-month Customer Care Package renewal, extra licences and upgrades are sold separately, but their prices are not shown. VAT treatment is not stated.

How much is EasyCert per month?

There is no monthly fee. Spread over three years, EasyCert Mobile's £224.95 works out at about £6.25 a month and EasyCert Pro's £174.95 at about £4.86, before any Customer Care renewals, whose price is not published. Subscription rivals cost more per month: Tradecert starts from £18 a month.

Is EasyCert updated for BS 7671 Amendment 4?

Yes. When we checked on 12 October 2026, Tysoft's EasyCert page said all its electrical software had been updated to BS7671:2018 Amendment 4 2026. Keeping your Customer Care Package current is how you receive updates, so check your renewal status before the next amendment.

Is EasyCert worth it?

For an electrician who prefers to write certificates on a Windows PC and hates subscriptions, yes. The one-off price is low over time. If you want to complete everything on site from your phone, the EasyCert Mobile app's ratings (2.5 on the App Store, 3.2 on Google Play) suggest a subscription app such as Tradecert or iCertifi may suit you better.

Does EasyCert work on a Mac?

Capterra UK lists Mac and Windows, but Tysoft's own EasyCert page does not name the desktop operating system, and a 2019 Professional Electrician review tested it on Windows. If you only have a Mac, ask Tysoft before you buy.

Can I use EasyCert if I am NICEIC or NAPIT registered?

EasyCert lets you print any registered organisation's logo, such as NICEIC, NAPIT or Elecsa, on its certificates. It does not claim to be endorsed by either scheme. NICEIC and NAPIT both sell their own certification software, so check your scheme's rules on which forms you must use.
